The Hastings Valley Fine Art Association will hold its 11th Annual Summer Showcase Exhibition and sale from 28th December 2016 until 8th January 2017 at the Laurieton United Services Club, Seymour Street. Open each day 10am-5pm, $2 entry.

The Showcase is the major event on the Association’s calendar and for the seventh year incorporates the Mid North Coast Open Art Prize of $1000, which is open to all artists living in this area. An additional six sections make this a varied and vibrant, must-see exhibition. The judge is Bridget Purtill from the Port Macquarie Regional Gallery.

President Brian Barker said, “This is our eleventh Summer Showcase Exhibition and as last year’s judge, Ken Strong, commented, all paintings were of a very high standard and as good as any exhibition he had judged. This year will be no exception, so for those who are interested in viewing and purchasing high standard fine art, you are invited to visit the Summer Showcase Exhibition. We would like to thank our sponsors, LUSC, Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, Tourism & Industry, Higgins & Dix Lawyers Laurieton, The Grange Family Medical Centre, Ocean Drive Family Practice North Haven, North Haven Pharmacy, Trek Web Design, First National RE North Haven, Masterpiece Framing & Gallery and Port Macquarie Psychology.”

An Opening Night and Awards Presentation on Wednesday 28th December from 6pm-8pm will launch the exhibition, $2 entry, lucky door prize, drinks available at the bar. RSVP December 12th to Rita, 6586 3236 or 0418 284 583.

The HVFAA is in the process of setting up a fund to assist a local young person to begin, or further, an appropriate course in visual/graphic art so profits from Summer Showcase will go towards this endeavour.

As well, you can visit the Hastings Fine Art Gallery, 2 William Street, Port Macquarie, in the grounds of the Maritime Museum, which will be open each day during the exhibition, in addition to its regular days, Tuesday-Sunday and Public Holidays, 10am-4pm, FREE entry.
