2017… The Year That Was


With another successful year behind us, it is our pleasure to report that Arts Mid North Coast continues to meet the challenges of positioning the arts as a key activity in the social and economic development of the region as well as its cultural values. Here are just some of our key initiatives and successes in 2017.

  • The Mid North Coast Creative Ageing Festival, the first in regional NSW showcased over 60 events for the over 60’s
  • 25 issues of our fortnightly e-newsletter, Arts Blast, plus 11 special editions.
  • A new Constitution adopted with significant changes to Board composition
  • New Filming Policies section added to our website www.screenmidnorthcoast.com.au
  • Over 1000 Facebook postings
  • Dedicated Creative Ageing Directory, the first in regional NSW
  • Submissions made on 5 Council Community Plans, 3 Economic Development Plans and 1 Heritage Plan
  • Over 600 events featured on our Events Calendar and then further promoted through Arts Blast, Facebook, Twitter and ABC Radio
  • A 14th Cultural Trail added to our Creative Coast focus for cultural tourism
  • Supported 4 Creative Ageing projects with seed funding
  • Added Digital Marketing Hot Tips section to SmartART and emailed directly to all artists
  • Over $500,000 added to regional and local arts economy through our role in and support of grant applications
  • Added new feature, For Score Years …and then some, showcasing artists of a certain age
  • Supported projects in 3 Creative Communities: Bellingen, Dorrigo and Sawtell
  • Still awaiting decisions on 7 grant applications lodged for Arts Mid North Coast projects
