Entries are now open for the 2017 Writing NSW Grants, developed to support writers and writing in NSW.

There are three grant streams:

  • Writing NSW Early Career Writer Grants ($5000)
  • Writing NSW Emerging Writing Organisation Grants ($5000)
  • Writing NSW Writer & Scientist Grant ($2000)

Entries for all grants close on Sunday 30 July 2017.

These grants are offered by the NSW Writers’ Centre with devolved funding from Create NSW.

‘The launch of the new grants program in 2016 was extremely successful,’ NSW Writers’ Centre Executive Director Jane McCredie said. ’We received a large number of excellent applications from writers across all genres and from all parts of the state, demonstrating how important this kind of support is. One of our key aims at the Writers’ Centre is to help writers build sustainable careers, and the grants are helping to do that by supporting some major new writing talents.
