Wingham Akoostik Music Festival has established itself as one of the region’s most vibrant community-based events. Offering a diversity of performances and workshops, the festival attracts thousands of people each year. Held at the Wingham Showground, the essence of Akoostik is creativity and originality and the performance spaces are set amongst food and market stalls boasting handmade and locally grown goodies.

Music lovers are invited to stay for the weekend, camp at the showground, chill out in the Akoostik Lounge, try a music workshop, join a choir, listen to the music, get into the groove, shop at the markets, visit the cafes and experience a friendly music festival in this charming country town on the banks of the Manning River.

The Wingham Akoostik Festival is not just acoustic style music ! The annual event takes place in October and provides non-stop entertainment from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. Many well-known Australian icons have performed on the Akoostik stage. The headlining acts over the past few years have included James Reyne, Grace Night, Doc Neeson, Deborah Conway, Wendy Mathews, Jenny Morris, Bill Chambers and Richard Clapton to name a few, with more than 30 supporting acts, travelling bands and local artists to round out performances by over 100 artists.

Each year there are workshops, circus performances, roving entertainers, early morning yoga sessions, vinyl record collectors exhibitions and sales, bamboo sculptures, rock and gem displays and market stalls featuring home made and home grown delights.
