A must for all involved in Dance and/or Aged Care Programs
An informal information session about leading diverse populations in movement and dance. With a focus on the ageing population, the session will cover knowledge base and experience required to move into this sector. Information provided will cover empowering disability and extending your creative expertise in a particular field and Safe Dance Practice.
Jess was until last year Lead Dance Artist in the House for the Arts Health Institute providing individual and group session programs in dance and movement in various aged care and community settings in Newcastle, the Hunter and Sydney. In collaboration with TAFE NSW, Jess is currently delivering a new short course in leading Dance and Movement for Wellbeing. The course provides information for potential dance specialists to engage skills sets and provide a knowledge base for further pathways in this growing sector.
Jess is soon to head to Europe as the recipient of a Create NSW 2017 Innovating Dance Practice Grant to look at best practice in this field with the London’s Dance to Health Program and the Green Candle Dance Company.
