October 18 - 20
The award-winning Wingham Akoostik Music Festival is three brilliant days of music; celebrating artistic expression, culture and community.
From humble beginnings, the regional festival has experienced significant growth and undertaken strategic changes to now be recognised as one of the NSW Mid Coast’s most vibrant events; attracting over 4,800 people annually.
The 13th annual Akoostik Festival has released the first taste of its bumper lineup for 2019 with headline act Diesel this October.
The six-time ARIA award winner will treat festival-goers to his distinct guitar playing and vocals with plenty of hits from his expansive catalogue including fan favourite Tip of My Tongue.
The show will mark a special return to the town of Wingham on NSW’s Mid North Coast for the US born-Australian singer as last year a sudden storm cut his headline set at the festival.
“We’re so excited Diesel will be returning after not getting to play last year. The fact that he’s not only coming back but he’s bringing an even bigger show for us is awesome,” she said.
“This year will be our biggest lineup yet, with even more well-known names to come.”
Diesel will be joined by other bluesey, country and rock inspired acts including Lloyd Spiegel, Hat Fitz and Cara, 19-Twenty, Hussy Hicks, Mason Rack, Blues Arcardia, Then Jolene and more.
2019 also features Turner Brown Band (AUS/USA), Andrew Swift, Sofiella Watt and the Handsome Husbands, Colin Lillie, Blake O’Connor, Montgomery Church, Mark Oats and Matt Zarb, Hudson Rose and Angus Gill, with more to be announced.
Each year Akoostik fuses together a solid lineup of blues, roots, country, rock and alternative acts with festival organisers always satisfying the audience through their boundless tastes.
On-site camping allows festival-goers to fully immerse themselves in the music, entertainment and cultural experiences offered throughout this unique event.
The family-friendly festival is set at Wingham Showground, which is nestled in the Barrington Coast region just two to three hours from Newcastle and the Central Coast.
More acts will be announced in the coming months. Tickets available at: https://akoostik.com.au/
