Artists of the Riverside Gardens Village

This exhibition showcases the art of residents of the local Riverside Gardens Village. It is also a reflection of the valuable work members of Nambucca Valley Arts Council provide in supporting art in their community through tuition and guidance. Please note the gallery is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10.00am to 3.00pm and Saturday 9.30am to 12.00 noon. Closed Monday/Tuesday.

Glass from the Past and A Showcase History of the Camera

The Glass from the Past’ exhibition includes Angus McNeil’s photographs documenting people and places from the Macleay. The images were recorded by McNeil on large format glass plates and the resulting prints are of superb quality. The images are from the Collection of the Macleay River Historical Society. Additionally, ‘A Showcase History of the Camera’ will be exhibited. The Slim Dusty Centre is open 7 days a week.

Theatres of War. Wartime Entertainment & the Australian Experience

This exhibition highlights the crucial role played by music and theatre in the lives of Australians from the First World War to Afghanistan. Drawn primarily from Arts Centre Melbourne’s Performing Arts Collection, the exhibition includes photographs, scrapbooks, letters, posters and audio-visual material that are used to tell stories ranging from concert party performers on the Western Front, female impersonators and opera singers in the jungles of New Guinea, to pop stars taking music from home to Vietnam. Self Portraits & Digital Plein Air – Heritage specific landscapes.

The Tangled Forest

This exhibition features the paintings of local artist John Andrews who brings over 40 years’ experience to his landscape paintings. The works are much inspired by the landscape of the valleys of Waukivory, near to Gloucester. John’s semi abstract style is often bold and bright.
