Kendall String Festival 2018

The Kendall National Violin Competition will start celebrating its 20th year with a String Festival at the Kendall School of Arts from February 22-26.

This Festival is made possible through the generous support of the Kendall Op Shop and features workshops and classes for individual string players of guitar, cello, violin and viola and the opportunity for keen musicians to play in a string orchestra. It concludes with a spectacular string concert on Sunday February 25 at 2 pm.

Workshop participation is open to any string players who want to improve their playing and who are excited to be part of a performing ensemble. The support of the Kendall Op Shop has made it possible that workshops and class registration is kept at a minimal price of $10. The string festival builds on the success of two enthusiastically received community string projects in 2016 and 2017 in Kendall which were also supported by the Kendall Op Shop.

The concert on Sunday, February 25 at 2 pm features international Guitarist Giuseppe Zangari, Kendall Violin Competition director Goetz Richter, Australian Violin expert Fintan Murphy and star musicians from the Sydney Conservatorium.

Admission for this concert will be $20 (children $10). For more information, contacts and details how to register please go to:
