After the election in late September of Councillors to the new amalgamated MidCoast Council they have appointed Cr. Claire Pontin as their representative to Arts Mid North Coast. Claire is a first time Councillor who stood on the Country Labour ticket which ran on a strong arts and culture policy. Claire brings more than 30 years’ experience in financial analysis, business development and governance to the role. She also has a strong interest in the arts having been a Board member of Sinfonia and the Tuncurry Hall.
Claire joins our other recent new Board member, Stephanie Ney, who was appointed at the Board’s AGM in June. Stephanie is well known through her arts experience and involvement including with Saltwater Freshwater Alliance and the Save Sawtell Cinema Project. Stephanie is now running her own music business, Uko Ono, which is also doing incredible work with a range community groups.
