Arts Mid North Coast

Arts Mid North Coast (AMNC) was established by a partnership of State and local government in 2001 to then further the interests of local artists. One of 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in NSW.  AMNC now undertakes a much broader brief for arts development. AMNC is a not for profit incorporated society managed by a Board of six Council representatives and six representatives from the community. It is staffed by an Executive Director (ED) and a part-time Social Media and Promotions Officer.

Our region extends across the six local government areas of Mid Coast, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Kempsey, Nambucca, Bellingen and Coffs Harbour. The Mid Coast Council was created in 2016 with the merger of the former Greater Taree and Great Lakes Councils which were already members of Arts Mid North Coast and Gloucester Council which was formerly a member of Arts Upper Hunter. With nearly 304,000 residents the Mid North Coast is the most populated region of the New South Wales RADO network.  With an area of more than 21,000 km2 we are responsible for a region larger than countries such as Israel and Slovenia.

The Board meets 4 times a year, usually in Kempsey or Port Macquarie.  Our Annual General Meeting is June each year. Members are appointed for two year terms with provision for up to 3 terms.  The position is unpaid. The existing Board you will become part of can be found at http://artsmidnorthcoast.com/ourboard/

As a Board member your role will be to support the goals of AMNC to:

1. Generate increased opportunities for access, participation, training and education in the arts and creative industries.

2. Generate increased visibility and awareness of the region’s creative and cultural activity and opportunities.
