As has been noted by others it is hard to sum up a lifetime of Maureen’s dedication to the arts and the community. A designer and seamstress with her own fashion line, ‘Maureens Models’ in the ‘70s, she is perhaps now more noted for her various and continuing roles with the Port Macquarie Arts Society. Her current role is Honorary Secretary The Society offers education and instruction in the arts, mounting regular group exhibitions and providing a shop front for the sale of members’ works of art in the heritage gallery of the Society’s premises at the Manor House on Hamilton Green. Their major event is the annual Easter Art Exhibition, now in its 44th year.
