Heywire is about real stories — no need to be a perfect writer. We welcome dot points, photos, videos, or audio. What matters is sharing your truth: what life’s like where you live, what you care about, what frustrates you, or what you love.
For over 27 years, Heywire has championed the bravery and vulnerability it takes to tell your story, your way — and we want to make sure young voices from the Mid North Coast are represented this year.
Winners get:
✔ Their story produced and featured on the ABC
✔ An all-expenses-paid trip to the Heywire Regional Youth Innovation Summit in Canberra
✔ The chance to shape change in their community
Our competition closes 1 September 2025 — until then, we’re on the hunt for stories about your epic, everyday life. This is your chance to be heard on the issues that matter to you and to work alongside ABC producers to bring your story to life.
