The 2026 Call for Entries is now open for the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize, which showcases ambitious ideas on an intimate scale. The prize is open to sculptors Australia-wide, and the 2026 cash prize pool is $10,000.

We invite artists to submit images of their completed or proposed original freestanding or wall-mounted sculptures of no larger than 50 cm in height, width or depth.

Established in 2018, the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize is the only annual competition hosted by the volunteer-run Art Space gallery in the seaside town of Urunga, NSW, and is rapidly gaining traction as one of the premier regional prizes for smaller-scale sculpture.

With over 170 entries in 2025 from all over Australia, the selected finalists last year covered mediums from the traditional, such as marble, bronze, and clay, to the eclectic, such as feather, shell, glass, and weaving.

The prize invites artists to push the creative potential of limited scale, where diverse mediums and innovative practice are encouraged.

2026 prizes:
First Prize: $6000
Second Prize: $2000
Highly Commended (2 @ $500) $1000
People’s Choice: $1000

Closes 6 pm on 9 August, 2026.

Finalists’ sculptures will be on display at the Art Space Urunga from 19th September to 17th October, 2026.
