CALL FOR ENTRIES: PORTRAIT EXHIBITION  

A portrait is broadly defined as any artwork that represents a person (or people), whether realistic or abstract in style. This can include traditional representations of the face, as well as broader interpretations of identity, character, or presence — for example, self-portraits, figurative works, or pieces that explore a person's likeness through unconventional means. We encourage artists to interpret the theme creatively

The Portrait Exhibition is open to all artists, regardless of experience level or background. We welcome emerging and established artists alike.

No, there is no fee to enter.

No. All mediums are welcome, and there are no size restrictions on artwork

No, wet work will not be accepted. All artwork must be completely dry and ready to display. 

Yes. All artwork must arrive ready to hang (e.g. wired, framed, or otherwise fitted with appropriate hanging hardware). Artwork that is not ready to hang may not be accepted. 

Artwork must be delivered on Sunday 16 August, between 1pm and 3pm. Please ensure your work arrives within this window. 

Pick-up is on Sunday 6 September, between 10am and 12pm. 

A 20% commission applies to any artwork sold during the exhibition, and you will be notified of the sale of your artwork. You will be required to submit an invoice, and payment will be made within 28 days to your nominated account.

Yes. Artists who volunteer for one gallery shift to help staff with the exhibition during its run will have their commission waived on any sales.

Details on volunteering for a gallery shift are included in the EOI, and you can opt in for a preferred date when completing the form.  

Yes, an opening celebration will be held on Tuesday 18th August, 5.30pm- 7.30pm
