Create NSW’s Arts and Cultural Funding Program provides funding opportunities for arts and cultural organisations, professional artists and arts/cultural workers across a wide range of artforms and disciplines.

Round 1 of the 21/22 Arts and Cultural Funding Program is currently open for applications and will close on Wednesday 18 August. 

Individuals

Small Project Grants (Quick Response) support the creation, development and presentation of new work and professional development opportunities for NSW-based professional artists and arts and cultural workers. This quick response grant offers grants from $500 to $5,000 towards projects.

The SoundLab Residency Program provides an opportunity for up to four NSW-based musicians or groups of artists to make music and sound in a high-end technical space designed for critical listening, and the exploration of technology and sound. Successful artists will receive $2,500 in funding support from Create NSW and the use of Arup’s SoundLab for 2-4 weeks.

Project funding supports innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector. Funding is available up to $60,000 towards a range of arts and cultural activities such as new project development and/or presentation, research, professional development, community and audience engagements.

Creative Koori Project funding aims to build support for a strong, resilient and exciting Aboriginal arts and cultural sector for NSW. Funding is available up to $60,000 towards arts and cultural activities for NSW Aboriginal artists and arts and cultural workers.

Organisations

Annual Organisation funding is provided on an annual basis to support arts and cultural organisations (including service organisations) to deliver multiple arts and cultural activities to diverse audiences throughout a single calendar or financial year.

Project funding supports innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector. Funding is available up to $60,000 towards a range of arts and cultural activities such as project development and/or presentation, partnerships building, community and audience engagements.

Creative Koori Project funding aims to build support for a strong, resilient and exciting Aboriginal arts and cultural sector for NSW. Funding is available for $60,000 and above which supports arts and cultural activities for NSW Aboriginal organisations.

What support is available to me?

While the round is open, Create NSW will be hosting a series of Create Connect Webinars to assist you with making an application. 

The first five webinars will be held in the week of 19 July and cover the following topics:

  • Funding information sessions for artists with disability- Tuesday 20 July, 11am-12pm
  • Creative Koori Projects Information- Tuesday 20 July, 2pm-3pm
  • Introduction to the key changes of the Arts & Cultural Funding Program and how to make an application, Wednesday 21 July, 11am-12pm
  • Budget information session, Thursday 22 July 11am-12pm
  • How to submit video responses, Thursday 22 July 2pm-3pm
