The Art Space Urunga is proud to present the 2024 Urunga Small Sculpture Prize, opening on Saturday 14th September.

With prize money of $10,000, the response so far has been unprecedented, with 154 entries from as far away as Western Australia, and every state apart from the Northern Territory.

The first round of judges will select 40 finalists from the entries submitted online and these finalist works will be delivered to the gallery, unwrapped then curated, ready for judging.

The second round judges this year will be Dr Braddon Snape, nationally recognised Newcastle NSW based artist who specialises in three-dimensional practice including large-scale public artworks and Kim Blunt, Senior Curator at Maitland Regional Art Gallery. They will select the winners to be announced at the opening.

All Judging is “blind”, meaning the artists are not identified to the judges.

Please come along for the announcement of winners and finger food on Saturday 14th September from 10.30am till midday.

The 2024 Urunga Small Sculpture Prize will be exhibited at The Art Space from September 14 till of October 12, open every day from 10am till 3pm.

Further information on the prize and the Judging panel is on the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize website.
