The Gallery, Coffs Harbour, is honoured to present a deeply personal solo exhibition by respected artist, storyteller, and cultural man Gawa Uncle Allan Phillips, who lives and creates on the Dorrigo Plateau. A son, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather, his ancestry is of the Worimi, Guringay and Gumbaynggirr peoples of NSW, Australia, alongside Irish and European heritage — “Or as I say… I am Onemob.”

This exhibition marks a significant moment, with Uncle Allan publicly exhibiting his artwork for the first time since 2017. Painting for more than 20 years, his works have found homes across Australia and internationally, with exhibitions spanning Canberra, Bellingen, Pambula, and Dorrigo.

Grounded in connection to Country, Ancestors, spirit, and shared human experience, the exhibition invites audiences to slow down, connect, and discover their own meaning within each artwork. Inspired by guidance from a Senior Gumbaynggirr Loreman, Uncle Allan intentionally leaves space for viewers to feel, listen, and walk with the stories shared through the works.
