WHO IS ARTS MID NORTH COAST

We are one of 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations in regional and rural New South Wales. You can find more about who we are and what we do at the About section of the website

How is the Mid North Coast defined?

We cover the region as defined by the seven local government areas from Great Lakes in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north

Where are you located?

We do not have an office with our small team working remotely…the way of the future? Our contact details and hours of operation can be found in the About section of the website. Back to Top

EVENTS CALENDER

One of the main services our website provides is a platform open to all to promote arts & cultural events throughout the mid north coast. There is an events calendar which allows anyone to upload their event to the website which is then shared across our online community. You can include background information, cost, venue and contact details and one image to promote your event. This may be a flyer or photo depicting the event.

Can anyone list an event?

Yes it is open to any individual or organisation. However the event must be in the mid north coast.

How do I list an event?

Simple – you can go to Events on the main menu and select Submit an Event from the drop down menu or you can go to Submit on the top menu and select Submit an Event.

What information do I need?

We recommend you have the following items prepared before you start to submit your event:
High Res poster / image / flyer for your event – Note: landscape layout displays better in our calendar but this is not essential. (Guide: 1024 x 400)
Paragraph(s) up to 500 words describing your event.
Other information relating to your event i.e.: contact tel, email address, venue, website, social media, ticketing info.

What happens next?
Your submitted event will be submitted as Pending until Arts Mid North Coast reviews and publishes it. Once published it will be listed on the Events Calendar under the appropriate category and listed on the Events Showcase page for the week prior to the event. It will also be shared on our Social Media network, which includes Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Selected event will feature in our fortnightly newsletter, Artsblast.

We are a small organisation run by volunteers how can I make my listing prominent?
The best thing to do is to provide as much information as possible. For example rather than saying “this play is being held on this date at this venue” give some background on the event, describe the play, the players where the idea came from and what you are hoping to achieve. Also the internet is visual so you should upload just one good image representing your event. If you already have a flyer upload this, or to make it more interesting take a photo of your flyer hanging somewhere to make it more interesting. Let your creativity shine and this will get people interested. Back to Top

ARTSBLAST

Artsblast is our fortnightly newsletter published on Thursday morning. Occasionally it gets put back to the Friday if we are waiting on last minute important information. Due to large numbers of events submitted it is not possible to include each one, but events that promote arts in the community, art for health wellbeing and sustainability, big events that bring prosperity to the region, events that would have a good community impact and events run by grassroots groups are given priority.

Because our events calendar is growing all the time we have created an Events Showcase page on the website which we link straight from the newsletter. The idea of this is to provide a quick look at all events that are coming up in the weeks between newsletters.

How do I get my event included in Artsblast?

Artsblast is primarily a newsletter which focuses on news, funding and other opportunities open to artists and participants of the arts in the mid north coast. We do feature selected events coming up but because of quantity we are not able to include each event.
How far in advance do you need me to upload my event?

We do ask for events to be submitted 2 weeks in advance, but as we can appreciate many of our events are run by volunteers we appreciate that this is not often possible so as long as we receive it by the Tuesday before and you put in a request to have it included we can work it into the newsletter. It is obviously better to start publicising you event well it in advance but if this is not possible we can work with a shorter lead. Back to Top

ARTISTS & CREATIVES DIRECTORY

What is the artists & creatives directory?

Arts Mid North Coast is happy to offer a profile listing in our online artists & creative’s directory. This directory is one of the largest, if not the only, collections of online profiles of artists and creative people who are working and living in the mid north coast. It is a free service and participants can upload up to 4 images of their work, a profile picture, a 350 word description of who they are and what they do and all information pertaining to their contact details and online presence – email, website, Facebook, twitter and Instagram.

How do I list my profile?

Simple. You can go to Directories on the main menu and select Submit an Artist & Creatives Profile from the drop down menu or you can go to Submit on the main menu and select Submit an Artist & Creatives Profile.

Can I list in more than 1 category?

Yes you can but try and think what category other people would think you would be under rather than how you describe yourself. The more categories you list under the greater the danger you distil the message of who you are!

What do I need?

We recommend you have the following items prepared before you start to submit your Listing:

  • Profile Photo
  • Paragraph(s) (limited to 350 words) describing how you wish to be portrayed in our directory.
  • Decide which Artist Medium you fall under – you can choose up to 3
  • High Res images samples of your work – up to 4 – (guide: keep the size and proportion of each image the same)
  • Other information you may wish to include i.e.: tel, email address, website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and Instagram

Then what happens?

Your profile remain in Pending until Arts Mid North Coast reviews and publishes it. Once published it will be added to the artist & creative’s directory, listed under the appropriate medium. Profiles will also be randomly posted on our Social media platforms.

Arts Mid North Coast generally return the top two results for specific google searches relating to the arts, artists, arts teachers and events on the mid north coast.

What happens if I want to update my profile?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer the facility for you to update your profile yourself. If you do need your profile updated it is just a matter of emailing communications@artsmidnorthcoast.org with your updated information, images and instructions. Once received we will update and email you back that it has been done.

Is there a limit to the number of changes I can make?

No. You are free to update your profile as often as you like but please keep in mind that Arts Mid North Coast has limited staff primarily working on a part-time basis so your discretion and patience is appreciated when requesting updates. Back to Top
