Call for entries are open for the 2026 Hornsby Art Prize, with $23,000 in total prize money.

Hornsby Art Prize is run by Hornsby Shire Council in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. Established in 2009, the non-acquisitive prize is open to all Australian citizens or permanent residents who currently reside in Australia, and are aged 18 years or over (as at 20 August 2026)

The overall prize pool value is $23,000, with the major prize $10,000. Artists are invited to submit works in the categories of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture.

This year’s judges are artists Guido Maestri and Mirra Whale. The Hornsby Art Prize Finalists’ exhibition will be held at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, Hornsby, from 16 October until 1 November 2026.

Entries open: 15 June 2026
Entries close: 20 August 2026 at 5pm
Prize announced: 16 October 2026
Exhibition: 16 October – 1 November 2026
