Funding to support travel to key international market development platforms and key gatherings.

The International Travel Fund: Market Development supports international travel costs for Australian artists, authors, illustrators, creative workers, and organisations attending significant market development platforms or key gatherings overseas.

This includes attending First Nations gatherings, and festivals that have a market development and international networking focus or support the export of works within their program. Support also includes attending international performing arts markets, book fairs, career-defining solo exhibitions, biennials, major art institutions or contemporary art spaces, contemporary art and design fairs as well as the presentation of self-published artistic practices at art book fairs, and a targeted program of artistic or professional meetings with local partners.

Market development activities are those that enable applicants to attend events that promote, publish, market, pitch, sell or export works into international markets. This program does not support touring, exhibition or presentation costs.

The aims of the fund are to:

  • support international travel costs for individuals, groups or organisations to attend market development platforms or key gatherings
  • support Australian artists, authors, illustrators, creative workers and organisations to build and sustain international networks and connections.

You can apply for a flat amount of $5,000 or $10,000 or $15,000 or $20,000 only. Requests for other amounts will not be accepted.

Closes 4 August 2026
