Kempsey Shire Council’s Community Grants program offers grant funding to active community groups so they can deliver community-led projects in a wide variety of forms that benefit Kempsey Shire. 

Community Grants support the delivery of the objectives in Council’s Community Strategic PlanMacleay Valley Sports Strategy and Arts & Culture Plan.

The funding streams include:

  • Community Projects Fund
  • Environmental Fund (fully exhausted)
  • Sporting Fund
  • Creative Macleay Fund

Micro Grants

Micro Grants of up to $500 are available to groups to deliver recognised annual events across the Kempsey Shire. These include:

  • Seniors Festival Micro Grants – closes 15 March 2026
  • Youth Week Micro Grants – closes 26 April 2026
  • NAIDOC Week Micro Grants- closes 17 May 2026
