6th Toe | Movies + Music is situated in the historic 1926 School of Arts Community Hall at the beach end of Gregory Street, South West Rocks. It is one of the last operating examples of the country picture shows which operated in almost every country town before the advent of television. Often screening just once or twice each week, a picture show man would ride into town and set up his projector to show movies, cartoons and newsreels.
Today, 6th Toe | Movies + Music operates all year round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and every day on ALL public and school holidays. Films are presented with digital projection and brand new, improved digital surround sound. It screens current major Hollywood releases as well as specialising in art-house titles from around the world. However it also regularly hosts live music and theatre shows.
