The Bulahdelah Courthouse Museum offers a fascinating insight into the district’s colourful past, particularly the logging industry. The Courthouse, built in 1886, sits majestically on a hill overlooking the Myall River. Its cells out the back are well worth a visit as they were once considered “luxurious”.
The Society has a fine collection of historical photos most of which have been digitised covering the local timber industry, alunite mining and village infrastructure like bridges, roads and buildings etc. It also has special displays from time to time –well worth a look! Family histories of many of the pioneer families are also housed at the Museum
The museum is open Saturdays 9am to 3pm and by appointment.
