The Regional Night-Time Economy Activation Program is a funding and capacity-building initiative designed to help regional towns across New South Wales extend their local economic activity into the evening hours. Led by the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, the program supports business collectives, local councils, and community groups to plan and deliver initiatives that boost after-dark vibrancy, safety, and cultural life.
This program encourages collaboration between businesses, artists, event organisers, and local government to activate public spaces through live music, arts, food, performance, and more. It’s an opportunity to reimagine what our towns and main streets can offer once the sun sets — transforming them into lively, inclusive places that foster creativity, connection, and community pride.
Importantly, the program also opens up opportunities for local artists and creatives to be part of night-time events through performances, installations, and workshops, helping build their profiles and income. Whether it’s a twilight market, street performance, or after-hours gallery event, the program is about showcasing what makes each place unique.
Expressions of interest are now open. If you’re part of a business collective, cultural group, or creative organisation looking to shape your local night-time economy, this program could be for you.
