This exciting biennial awards exhibition is on again soon!
Entries are open until 1st April and the will commence on Monday 14th April 2025, running through until Sunday 4th May.
Once again we will have a fabulous prize pool, with a Main Prize of $3,000 provided by the Rotary Club of South West Rocks, through the Adelaide Swift Trust Fund. The People’s Choice Award of $300 is generously sponsored by South West Rocks Estuary Charters.
There will also be three prizes in each of the following categories:
- Oil or Acrylic Painting
- Water based Medium
- Pastel and Drawing
- Traditional Mixed Media
- Youth Award (Ages 9-13)
- Youth Award (Ages 14-18)
Since taking on the management of ASMAA, the South West Rocks Community Art Gallery Management Committee has tried to maintain the “memorial” aspect of the Awards, which have been held biennially for more than twenty years. That is, artwork submitted must be two dimensional, and of a “traditional nature”. You might say it’s a good old-fashioned art exhibition!
We’re sure you will agree that many of us also enjoy and value the exciting new styles and techniques which technology and indeed product research have introduced to the creative arts world. For example, photography has come a long way from a dark room, a tray of chemicals and a clothesline! However, we feel there is still a place to celebrate, and remember, traditions of the past, and ASMAA is an example of this.
Deadline for registration is April 1st.
Deliver your artwork to the gallery between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday, April 13.
Size limit: Maximum 1 metre on any side. Limit of two artworks per category.
The artworks will be on display at The Gallery from April 14 to May 4.
