Following the tremendous success of the 2024 exhibition, the EJ Mantova Art Prize announces its return to Bellingen for 2025. The event will be hosted at the Bellingen Gallery and Framing Studio, under the enthusiastic stewardship of new owners Jude and Paul Regan.
The 2025 Art Prize introduces an exciting new Miniatures category, joining the established prizes:
– Marie Warwick Memorial Open Prize (any subject, any medium) – $500 first prize, $200 second prize
– Landscape Prize – $500 first prize, $200 second prize
– Sculpture/3D Prize – $500 first prize, $200 second prize
– New Miniatures Prize – $500 first prize, $200 second prize
All artworks will be judged on composition quality, creativity and originality, and technical skill. The month-long exhibition format continues, providing extended opportunities for community engagement and artist sales.
Key Dates:
– Entries Open: Monday, February 24, 2025
– Entries Close: Monday, March 31, 2025 (2:00 PM)
– Exhibition Opening: Saturday, April 26, 2025 (4:00 PM)
The EJ Mantova Art Prize, established in the 1970s, honors Ernest John Mantova, Bellingen’s first professional artist. After settling in Bellingen in the 1930s, he spent two decades creating landscapes and mentoring local artists.
