After School Learn to Sew

A fun opportunity for your kids to learn the basic skills of sewing over six 1.5 hour sessions.

Along the way they’ll learn:

-- A variety of hand-sewing stitches like blanket stitch, running stitch, French knots, chain stitching, starting and finishing off, and quilting.
-- Fundamentals like patching and hemming.
-- Embroidery and embellishments (e.g. basic screen printing as a base for embroidery and appliqué).
-- Fabrication, design elements, working with different materials, project planning and colour considerations.

Fun, engaging, supportive

This is a fun and engaging program of project-based sessions that complement their learning. Each week they will have their own project to work on and implement their new-found skills. They can choose from a variety of projects to customise with their own creative flourishes, such as hair accessories, bangles, bag tags, bookmarks, brooches, and custom patches.

Ages: Kids 10+
Skill level: Beginner — No skills required
