Wauchope Arts Council are very excited to be hosting the amazing Charles Maimarosia in our hall this month. He is an extraordinary singer, guitarist, panpipe player, and storyteller, originally from the Solomon Islands and now based in Melbourne. He is renowned for being a musician of important custom knowledge, drawing equally on traditional and contemporary musical styles.
Charles will be accompanied by Alice Hurwood a singer-songwriter and cellist from Naarm/Melbourne, known for her angelic vocals and lush cello textures that have captivated audiences worldwide. Her debut album, Can We Talk Sometime, moves beyond the pandemic-fueled teenage angst of her 2020 EP, exploring themes of connection and accountability. A recipient of the APRA/AMCOS Young Songwriter of the Year award, she has since performed across Australia and Europe, sharing her intimate, soul-stirring sound. Alice will be playing an opening set too!
