Figuratively Speaking
7 Sep 2024 - 19 Oct 2024
“figuratively speaking” is both an exhibition of fine art and a gathering place of pure creativity. With a background in graphic design, illustration and over 50 years experience painting and exhibiting, Bundagen-based artist Osheo is set to launch his latest collection of works on at Matilda Street Gallery, Macksville on September 7th at 3pm with live music and canapés.
Osheo’s work emerges from a meditative state and explores humanity in all its shades, opinions, gestures, expressions and nuances. “I’m always returning to the figure, the human form, it’s amazing and incredible.” References to other figurative painters, such as Picasso, can be seen in his work. Constantly experimenting, he has developed a distinctive style which exposes intrinsic human relationships with nature and the invisible bonds that connect us all. His feature piece ‘The Golden Thread’ is a description of ‘being in the zone’ and following the creative energy.
Osheo’s “figuratively speaking” exhibition offers a wide range of subject matter including canvasses in oil and acrylic, as well as watercolour. This is a wonderful opportunity for art lovers on the Mid North Coast to view and acquire the works of a unique artist, including limited edition museum quality prints.
