Archive presents 'Live at the Farm' the February edition
With the Kinfolk Orkestar, following up last year's sold out show at the Nambucca Arts Centre

The Kinsfolk Orkestar is a collective of rare talent, where folk music meets jazz meets a groove that moves body and soul. This is where traditional melodies dare to venture into phonic forays of virtuosic improvisation, where the sweeter sounds of bow on strings and breath in brass collide with raw rhythm groove and power, creating an emergent sonic property greater than the sum of its parts.

The Kinsfolk Orkestar play tunes from Eastern Europe to Latin America to the Celtic world and beyond, both traditional and contemporary. With full respect for tradition, each musician in the collective pays homage to their musical and cultural heritage while also taking freewheeling left turns into the unexpected, celebrating the spontaneity and pure expression of live music.

The core of the Kinsfolk Orkestar is chameleon fiddler of many styles Laura Targett (of Wild Thyme), the excellent Emiliano Beltzer (of Santa Taranta) on bass & guitar, multi-instrumentalist Joshua Szabo (of Hello Tut Tut) on bass and lute, and acclaimed rising star Oscar Eager on the trumpet. They will be joined by the brilliant Otis Lyons on drum kit.

The Kinsfolk Orkestar defy you to stay seated - come prepared to dance!
