The series titled Postcards From Afar captures the profound sense of belonging we discover through our encounters with the natural world. These moments of connection serve as a mirror to our inner selves, revealing a journey that is both external and internal.

Photographed between 2019 and 2021 during my working holiday in Canada, this series chronicles a time of significant growth and self-discovery. These transformative years in my early twenties unfolded against a backdrop of stunning landscapes, where each horizon brought new revelations. The changing seasons - from the crisp, serene Canadian winters to the blossoming springs, the radiant Californian sunshine and the fiery hues of autumn - echo the personal evolution we all experience. Each phase marks a departure from the past and an embrace of new beginnings, symbolizing an ongoing cycle of transformation and renewal.

The choice of 35mm analogue film was pivotal for this project. This medium, which ignited my passion for photography, offers a deliberate and reflective process. The anticipation of developing each roll and rediscovering forgotten moments imbues the images with a profound sense of nostalgia. The grain and texture of the film capture not just visual details but the emotional essence of each moment, preserving them in a timeless manner.
