The Saltwater Freshwater Festival is the Mid North Coast’s premier community-led celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Held annually during National Reconciliation Week, the 2025 festival will embrace the theme “Bridging Now to Next”, reflecting our shared journey toward a stronger, more connected future.

Born from a powerful vision of unity and cultural pride, the Saltwater Freshwater Festival began in 2010 to celebrate Aboriginal culture as central to our national identity. What started as a one-day event has since grown into a must-attend festival, bringing communities together to experience the vibrant traditions, stories, and artistry of the Saltwater Freshwater region. Year after year, it continues to inspire, educate, and celebrate the richness of First Nations culture in an unforgettable way.

Proudly 100% Aboriginal-owned and operated through the Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance, this vibrant one-day event brings together communities to experience the power of live performances, cultural workshops, art, dance, and storytelling.
