Summer Holidays Exhibition
12 Nov 2024 - 2 Feb 2025
With the opening of our third exhibition, Summer Holidays, Dorrigo & Beyond is most definitely on the map of must-visit art destinations in the Mid North Coast region. Our last exhibition, New Beginnings, sold a record 8 artworks within the first 5 days and 17 within the first month! Like the last exhibition, Summer Holidays is tied to seasons.
14 local artists portray what summer holidays means to them through their artworks:
Katherine Ackland | Gail Cardow | Tess Cullen | Els Daglin
Chris Fahey | Pete Gailey | Elle Holiday | Chris Hundt
Rhonda Mair | Carol McLagan | Peter Mortimore
Robyn Simon | Jenny Thorby | Juliet Tilson
Chris Hundt, whose painting “Campground on Bucket’s Way” is featured on the flyer, says the following:
“Summer holidays for me conjure up images of the beach and lots of seaside activities. Yet living in Dorrigo now, I find this time of year is more associated with enjoying the wide green vistas, rainforests, rivers & mountains of the tablelands. Therefore, camping is so very popular! This was one scene I came across at a popular campground beside the river just off Bucket’s Way.”
Come and check out this work amongst all the others, 7 days a week at 51 Hickory Street Dorrigo as part of the Bellingen Shire Arts Trail Weekend 23-24 November. Now the home of Bellingen Gelato in Dorrigo, you can also treat yourself to an all-natural sorbet or gelato 7 days a week.
