Damian Wright, ARIA nominated flamenco guitarist of BANDALUZIA returns to No5 Church Street, Bellingen on November 30th with his latest duo project with Jazz legend Gary Daley on Accordion.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

– DAMIAN WRIGHT –

DAMIAN WRIGHT is an ARIA nominated Flamenco guitarist. Damian recently released his debut album “Shifting Sands” (ABC Music) which was The Sydney Morning Heralds ‘Pick of the week’ where it was described as “Glorious guitar playing”. Damian was invited to perform as a solo artist at The Rajasthan International Folk Festival, INDIA and in 2016 performed at The Shanghai Fringe Festival, CHINA. Damian’s ensemble BANDALUZIA was invited to perform at the biannual Adelaide International Guitar Festival curated by Slava Grigoryan & was a soloist at The Sydney International Guitar festival in 2017 & 2018

– GARY DALEY –
Gary Daley is best known as a musician playing in some of the elite bands of Australian jazz; currently James Greening’s band Greening from Ear to Ear and the jazz-world music band The Catholics. He leads the quartet Bungarribee which features his own compositions and interpretations from the classical repertoire.
Daley’s playing has been described as “exquisite” by The Sydney Morning Herald, and his composition for large ensemble, Sanctuary, drew the following response……
“. . . music such as this can knock the wind out of my diaphragm, by simply reminding me how far the word falls short of the music.” – John Hardaker, Australianjazz.net.
