Are you a young creative, performer, entrepreneur, or organiser looking to be part of something big? The Macleay Youth Laneway Festival is back in 2025, and Kempsey Shire Council wants YOU to be part of it!

  • When: Saturday, 12 April 2025
  • Time: 2-6pm
  • Where: Clyde Street, Kempsey

Events like the Macleay Youth Laneway Festival play a crucial role in providing safe, engaging, and inspiring opportunities for young people. They help build confidence, foster creativity, and encourage social connections, all while boosting the local economy and strengthening community ties. By participating, young people gain valuable experience, showcase their talents, and contribute to a more vibrant and inclusive Macleay Valley.

This is your chance to showcase your talent, earn some cash, and help shape one of the coolest events in the Valley. Whether you’re an artist, musician, performer, or business-minded young gun, there are plenty of ways to get involved:

  • Youth Art Exhibition – Submit your artwork for a chance to win one of eight $200 prizes
  • Market Stalls – Sell your products or services and make money on the day
  • Perform & Entertain – Sing, dance, play music, or perform – paid opportunities available!
  • Event Planning & Delivery – Help bring the festival to life, share ideas, and get rewarded for your time

Why get involved?

Apart from the chance to make money and build experience, you’ll be shaping an event for young people, by young people. Russell Pell, Manager of Community Development, says the festival is all about celebrating local youth and giving them the platform they deserve:

“The Macleay Youth Laneway Festival is about giving young people a voice and an opportunity to shine. Whether you’re an artist, performer, or entrepreneur, this is a space where you can showcase your skills, meet like-minded people, and be part of something truly special.”
