Finnian’s Tavern, Port Macquarie’s premier live music venue, is thrilled to announce an upcoming performance by the legendary Australian rock band Grinspoon. This highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, October 27th, as part of the band’s tour promoting their new album, Whatever, Whatever. Joining Grinspoon on stage will be the dynamic support act, Press Club.

Grinspoon, featuring Port Macquarie’s own Phil Jamieson, has long been a cornerstone of Australian rock, with a sound and presence that have become iconic over their decades-long career. With 13 ARIA Award nominations, over half a million records sold, and a reputation for electrifying live performances, Grinspoon’s impact on the music scene is undeniable. Their discography, from the seminal Guide To Better Living (1997) to the critically acclaimed Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills (2004), showcases their enduring appeal and innovative spirit.

Their latest album, Whatever, Whatever, produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers), marks an exciting new chapter for the band. Recorded in coastal Victoria, the album blends the classic Grinspoon sound with fresh, contemporary influences, reflecting the band’s growth and evolution.

Finnian’s Tavern is dedicated to supporting live music and fostering a vibrant local music scene. Hosting a band of Grinspoon’s calibre underscores the venue’s commitment to bringing world-class live music to Port Macquarie. “This is a huge opportunity for everyone in the Port Macquarie community.” Says Lachlan Horsley, Venue Manager and Live Music Coordinator at Finnian’s Tavern. “Having a huge band like Grinspoon draws crowds that support local businesses, boosts our economy, and highlights the importance of live music. With continued community support, we aim to bring even more exciting acts to Port Macquarie.”
