A collection of poetry by local writer, Bronwyn Rodden, will be launched at this year’s Newcastle Writers Festival on 5th April. Bronwyn has published in Australia and internationally and was a Finalist in the Newcastle Poetry Prize 2023. Her collection, ‘Stranded’ is published by Flying Islands Press and features one of her artworks on the cover. This book is a survey of the range of styles and subjects that have featured in her work over the years. One of her poems will be performed at the opening of the HERstory Festival at the Wharf Theatre in Sydney on 23 April.

From ‘Intersections’:

Through delicate shadows the fluid body

of the bay vibrates, sea of broken glass.

Grevillea tentacles reach out to me from

a different focus, bottle brush, fiery red,

my thermos steams with apple-scented tea.
