Young at Art is a project facilitated by Jess Miller of the Art Department in 2022 that provided four weekly intergenerational creative workshops with residents from Mater Christi Residential Aged Care and Stage 1 students from Mary Help of Christians School, Toormina.
Aiming to encourage meaningful connections between generations, students and residents met and worked together using various mediums such as photography, drawing, painting and clay making.
Sawtell Catholic Care also put on a special exhibition featuring photography and artworks created during the Young At Art project alongside a special Art of Ageing exhibition - an initiative recognising older peoples contributions to their communities, in conjunction with the official opening of The Link community space at 631 Hogbin Drive, Toormina.
This project was funded by Arts Mid North Coast's Country Arts Support Program.
