My name is Nikky Morgan-Smith.
I’m based in Bellingen NSW, and I’ve been practising for over 20 years.

What materials, tools, or processes do you typically work with, and what draws you to them?
I use drawing materials, paint, performance, print, found objects, collage and photography.
I am drawn to materials based on the conceptual context of my work at the time. I look for the best way to tell the story.
I believe arts practice is a shared experience, and we all learn from each other.
How does it feel to participate in this program?
It feels important to be able to share experience and knowledge. I believe arts practice is a shared experience and we all learn from each other.

How do you hope audiences will respond to your work?
I hope what I share with my mentee helps clarify their practice and creates a strong, sustainable career trajectory.

What’s next for you in your creative journey?
I have a show at Yarilla opening on the 2nd of July 2026, titled Index Act.
