Arts Mid North Coast congratulates the nine successful recipients of SEED Grants Program funding, awarded to community-driven and place-based creative projects across the region.
Arts Mid North Coast Director Olivia Parker says the diverse range of submissions from 24 applicants demonstrated the ingenuity of regional creatives, and their desire to connect.
“SEED Grants enable artists and communities to bring ideas to life, activate spaces, grow their creative practice and strengthen community networks.
“It takes vision and dedication to execute arts programs and projects, and we’re proud to support those efforts locally.”
SEED Grants provide flexible funding to support artists and communities, aiming to encourage creative activity across the region in artist-led and community connected projects.
Recipients are:
Amuramy Martins Cavanagh for Circus Sparks: Youth Drama Project
Celebrating youth creativity, the project will provide guided workshops for children from Stuarts Point (and surrounds) in creating circus‑themed characters and a short drama performance.
Hayley Egan for Singing the Forest: Place-Based Vocal Improvisation in the Rainforests
Working with community members across Bellingen Shire, this community arts project will bring collaborative vocal improvisation into the Gondwana Rainforests on Gumbaynggirr Country.
Joshua Connelly for Mycelium: A Living Community Artwork
Mycelium is a participatory digital artwork inviting locals to contribute a single word that becomes part of a permanently evolving living network, culminating in physical archival artworks.
Leanne Johnson (Ability in Action Camden Haven) for Movember Bar-Capella Sing Project
Aimed at engaging men aged 18–48 (and open to all participants), interactive pop-up sing-along events will foster connection and promote the mental wellbeing benefits of singing together in support of Movember.
Rachael Thorpe (Ability in Action Camden Haven)
Ability in Action Camden Haven will present a free, three-day exhibition showcasing artists with disability, including professional styling, photography, social media training and networking opportunities for participants, and culminating in a public ‘You Can’t Ask That’ panel.
Roselinde Klass for Women who Weave
A hands-on weaving workshop for women from the Women Who Farm network will invite participants to learn to grow, harvest, and process local fibres, then craft a basket with local weaving expert Ingrid Riverstone.
Salvatore Rossano for Taranta Festival Free Program 2026
Taranta Festival 2026 is a three-day celebration of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) arts in Bellingen – grant funding will cover artist fees and enable a free-to-public program, showcasing eight local and visiting performers across three venues.
Sara-Jayne Prince for Rituals Amongst Humanity Exhibition
Exploring human rituals as shared, symbolic actions that reinforce identity and foster connection, this project will combine photography, video, interviews, and installation to examine rituals as enduring tools for belonging and meaning across cultures, providing an anchor in an increasingly fragmented and digital world.
William Jarrett for the GrillaGrilla Album Launch Playback (Listening Party)
The GrillaGrilla Album Launch Playback (Listening Party) is a whole-of-community music event, celebrating the release of Gumbaynggirr man Will Jarrett’s new album, Wunk Punk Drunk, followed by a DJ set from Kapital J.
