The Willoughby Emerging Art Prize is now open for entries.

Willoughby Council is proud to present the return of the Willoughby Art Prize. Established in 1983, the award was a long-running and highly regarded visual arts prize supported by Willoughby City Council, before being paused in 2007 during construction of The Concourse.

After almost 20 years, the prize returns as the Willoughby Emerging Art Prize, marking a renewed commitment to supporting the next generation of artists. Aligning with existing initiatives such as the Young Composer Award, the prize celebrates emerging practitioners from across Australia, offering a platform to showcase new work across a range of disciplines.

This year’s total prize pool is $15,000, generously supported by the Civic Place Trust, with $10,000 awarded to first place and $5,000 to second place. The prize will be judged by Consuelo Cavaniglia and Monica Rani Rudhar.
