Innovative Arts & Health Programs

Arts Mid North Coast has been researching, delivering and supporting innovative programs to promote the positive impacts of the arts on health outcomes, including mental health, wellbeing and creative ageing.

Creative Ageing

Participation in the arts can have a powerful impact on the health and wellbeing of older people. Arts activities, such as dancing, music and singing have been shown to improve mobility and motor control, heart and respiratory function, greater self-esteem and confidence.

Musicians In Hospitals

This pilot program trained local musicians to deliver musical experiences at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus over a six-month period. Arts Mid North Coast sponsored the project for funding through the NSW Government's 'My Community Projects' program.

The Art Remedy Podcast

The Art Remedy Podcast explores how the arts contribute in many ways to building better communities. In each episode, we interview artists, arts workers, creatives, community members, researchers and experts from a broad range of disciplines.
