Arts Mid North Coast is pleased to announce it has secured vital two-year funding from Create NSW as part of their 2-year multi-year funding program, a significant achievement following an extremely competitive funding round.
“After many months of uncertainty, this outcome brings both relief and renewed energy as we look to the future,” said Olivia Parker, Executive Director of Arts Mid North Coast.
“Along with many regional galleries and organisations, we missed out on our bid for 4-year funding earlier in the year, which was a big disappointment. That’s why this result means so much. It secures our organisation for the next two years and ensures we can continue to provide vital services to our creative sector and community.”
Arts Mid North Coast is one of 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in NSW, established to strengthen and grow the creative sector across regional communities. Serving more than 320,000 people, the Mid North Coast has the largest population in the RADO network. Recent reforms have shifted funding from secure, negotiated agreements to a competitive process with no guarantees.
In this context, the funding from Create NSW enables Arts Mid North Coast to continue its role as a vital regional connector and creative leader, supporting artists, cultural organisations and community initiatives in one of the fastest growing regions.
“Most importantly, this allows us to shift our focus from waiting and uncertainty to building upon the strong programs we have already been delivering,” said Ms Parker.
“Over the coming months, we look forward to strengthening partnerships, expanding opportunities for artists and creative workers, and planning for the future with greater confidence.”
Critical to the success of the application has been the support from local government partners, whose investment has helped sustain the organisation and attract ongoing state support.
“We want to acknowledge and thank the Councils who continue to support the arts in our region. Their investment enables us to unlock state funding and deliver high-impact programs and partnerships in our region,” said Ms Parker.
