Water Wings is a community art project that invites everyone to contribute, connecting locals through art, shared space and storytelling.

Led by artists Deb Broughton and Elaine Carmady, Water Wings tells the story of Badawi, the big brolga. Through a series of public events – including a visit to Stuarts Point Public School, and via a stall at the local fun day – people are asked to paint their own brolga ‘feather’ to be added to the final artwork assemblage.
Made from a unique weatherproof material, each feather forms an individual contribution to a larger story. The final mural will be installed for all to enjoy at the Stuarts Point Reserve.

The project is assisted by Australia Post Community Grants and Kempsey Shire Council.
