Elected to Council: 2008. Re-elected: 2012.

Rod Degens joins the Arts Mid North Coast board as Coffs Harbour Council representative where he has been re-elected in 2012.  Having grown up in Coffs attending primary and high school and living away due to education and work he has returned with his family. Rod is a school teacher by profession and has worked at several of the schools in the area.

He has been actively involved in local community groups and maintain a strong interest in the natural environment as well as the economics and well being of this area. He would like to see a change of culture within Coffs itself to one of investigation and promotion of a wider range of income streams for this region.

He believes good leadership means not only getting things achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner , but accomplished by listening, being in-tune with and accommodating, wherever possible, what the community needs for it to prosper.
