Sound Futures: Youth Music Program
Sound Futures provides young people access to career pathways in the music industry – like performance, sound production, stage & events management.
SoundFutures is Arts Mid North Coast’s flagship youth music mentorship program, delivered across the Mid North Coast. The program supports young people aged approximately 13–18 to develop creative skills, confidence and wellbeing through regular music-making, mentoring and community connection.
SoundFutures uses music as a vehicle for connection, self-expression and resilience, while also providing young people with exposure to creative pathways, positive role models and supportive peer networks. The program is delivered through weekly, in-person sessions in local community and music venues and culminates in public outcomes such as performances, recordings and all-ages events. Programs engage music industry professionals as mentors to deliver workshops that build creativity, confidence, skills and networks.
Being involved in music benefits young people in many ways, including helping improve memory and thinking, confidence, teaching discipline, and inspiring creativity and self-expression.
