Four times a year the main street of this picturesque town becomes the Made in Dorrigo Market Everything at the market is of high quality, lovingly and skillfully made by artists and artisans and is guaranteed to be grown, manufactured or produced in the Dorrigo 2453 postcode.
Increasingly there is more and more to see and do whenever you come to Dorrigo. You can start at the local museum and get a sense of the history of Dorrigo which is still so obvious in the townscape. Specialist galleries and shops focus on the unique, from quilts and wrought iron to handmade jewellery and leatherworks. Local cafes feature local artwork and homewares and even the bistro at the Club has exhibitions.
Combine these with overflowing bric-a-brac from the corner “antiques” store and country shops brimming with country hospitality and you will begin to see why more and more creative people are making Dorrigo their home.
Dorrigo also hosts several major events during the year including the well established Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival and the Creative Mountain Art Exhibition.
