Throughout August, Arts Mid North Coast delivered a Free Professional Development Series for Artists Living with Disability, facilitated by local artist Marc Renshaw, with Alyson Pearson and James Lander.
The three-part professional development series was designed specifically for artists living with disability wanting to build their confidence, develop their professional practice, and create new opportunities for their creative careers.
Across the three workshops, participants develop a professional artist biography and artist statement, and received a professional headshot for use across promotional materials and applications.
Drawing on the instructors’ depth of professional knowledge, students learnt practical strategies for selling their artwork and presenting themselves professionally. They also explored the benefit of entering art prizes and exhibitions, and gained confidence in approaching galleries to pitch exhibitions and projects.
The workshops were well-attended, and hosted in the creative atmosphere of Nambucca Valley Phoenix, Bowraville.
Presented by Arts Mid North Coast.
